Human beings often use the word, 'accident'.
'Accident' always comes while we do not expect.
Things happen… but

As for 'accident', I can not help thinking it is created by people.
For example, even if all the things are determined in advance, saying that they are accident makes sense to me but…

From the past, I do not think everything merely happens accidentally.
Perhaps even it seems everything is determined but I can not easily see.

If everything is determined, I will try my best walking on that way.
No matter where it leads to and no matter how it is, though I do not understand…

Being born, if the way is determined, we struggle to discover.
However, what kind of accident we will have is determined by ourselves.

To those I have ever met, to all have happened to me, to all the way of my life, I give thanks from the bottom of my heart.
My thanks will be delivered through my performance from now on.

Till the tiniest things, I want to thank you.
I’m so happy. Thank you.
Everybody, bless you.

﹝Note: Translation is purposely kept very close to the original meaning and forms in this poem-like style of writing. It may not totally grammar-correct since there are some hanging ending even in the original Japanese article.﹞

As a woman being dreamed of, she is so cool because …
She picks the way she’s going toward by herself.

People often seek for big happiness,
but there is happiness even in the things that we usually take for granted.

She wanted to become 40 years old soon.
She wants herself to suit for her age.

Such as the cool teacher in “Joou No Kyoushitsu” and the enka singer who fails to sell her albums in “Enka No Joou”, in recent years, Yuki Amami, playing a lot of strong characters, is going to have her new drama, called “Around 40 ~Woman Asking A Lot~”, started on 11th. In this drama, she becomes a 39-year-old (similar to her age) female psychological doctor, Satoko Ogata, who is bothered by women’s time limit.
“I think those people at the similar age as Satoko may feel ‘This is how this woman gets out of her situation!’ along with some combination with themselves. For those at 20s or 30s, they may think ‘Oh! They have this kind of worry!’ and take her as an example while watching the drama. This wil be really cool.”

“Around 40” implies the people whose age is around 40. Being called “AR4”, nowadays these people face the busiest era. On the other hand, women face the choices among marriage, giving birth, and etc as their turning point in life. In the drama, the real feeling of these women coming closer to AR4 is described in some humorous but sometimes serious/hurting ways.
“Before hearing about this drama, I totally didn’t know this term, AR4. But now, this (AR4) is where I am. From Makiko Kaga, I was told ‘After 40 years old, it’s really soon getting 50s and 60s!’ (laugh). Thus, I will work hard in the following ten years.”

Last summer, she became 40 years old. “I didn’t feel any difference. Rather, it’s more like ‘finally coming to this point’.” For this woman who speaks very definitely, while getting older and older, how does she feel?
“At my late 20s and 30s, my surrounding environment changed dramatically. I had a lot of new experiences and had some period of time being work hard but stupidly. However, not thinking anything, just letting days passing by, and only getting older but nothing inside myself changing are not what I would choose to do. Therefore, I often carefully ponder and live according to the age I am.”

Because I want to laugh with good face,
I try to find any tiny joy.

“Besides, the efforts I have made in 20s and 30s should show on my face in 40s. Even though there are wrinkles or spots, it is still my own face. No problem at all! No matter how many laugh lines I have, it doesn’t matter. Just thinking ‘it’s my own face’, it’s fine to laugh at any time I feel it!”

In the industrial questionnaire, she got a lot of votes as “the ideal boss” and also won support from females with a wide range of age. To laugh with a good face, how does she do in her daily life?
“Looking for tiny happiness as mush as possible! For example, ‘The weather is nice today!’ or ‘The foundation is put really well!’. Just like these tiny things (laugh). Even only with this, I feel happy. Isn’t it great? People often seek for big happiness but there is happiness hiding in those things that we very likely take for granted or even ignore.”

Meeting with Yuki Amami, who is not acting but speaking frankly, I feel like to respect her without second thought. “Here is a bottle of water. What do you think? Already half full? Only half full? Just a little bit different thinking changes a lot, right?” This is what Satoko says in the drama to a patient during the counseling. Probably this is what Amami treats herself.
“I’m not that kind of person getting worry by himself or herself. Since I like to sleep, no matter what, just going to bed, then I will totally forget all the bothersome things the next day (laugh). If worrying does help, then we should worry. However, it does not. First of all, I’ll try to think how to solve the problem, act, and solve it in a short period of time. If not able to solve it, I won’t feel my efforts are in vain but come back to be myself the next day. Coming back home wearily from work and then crying with regret, I may have swollen eyes like clam the next day. It’s really bad. Isn’t it? Why do we need to treat ourselves like this, being affected by those things?”
